The released Nokia C1 and C2 should be priced in the range of 30 to 45 Euros [Rs. 1,700 to 2,500]

Well, It looks Nokia has realized the importance of Dual SIM handsets, and thus this world’s largest handset maker has launched a set of cheap handsets which also include two low end Dual SIM handsets, with the cheapest handset costing just EUR 30.

The new phones are scheduled for release in Africa and Asia later this year.

Released Nokia’s low cost C-series of handsets also features two [C-2 and C1-00] dual SIM phones with the remaining twos offering single SIM solutions.

In addition of C-2, there have also been announced three new single SIM handsets under the C-1 series of handsets. Further, one of the phone from C-1 series is a two-in-one dual SIM phone, and with expectations of C2 going for sale by Q4 of 2010.

Amongst all the handsets from C-1 series, Nokia C1-00 is priced at EUR 30, and is also happen to be the first Nokia handset which offers double SIM solution. Two SIM cards can be inserted into the phone, and only one remains active at a given point of time. By just flicking a switch, users will be able to switch SIM cards.

Offering users a whopping stand by time of upto six weeks, which is also the longest ever for a Nokia phone, C 1 is perfect for people from the areas having limited electricity supply.

Some of the prime features of handsets from C-1 range are color display, FM radio, standard headphone jack, flashlight, large standby time etc.

Other handsets of C-1 series are C1-01 and C1-02 , and both are single IM devices. Both the phones offer microSD compatibility and support up to 32GB of memory cards.

Color screen, web browsing using GPRS, access to Nokia web services including Nokia messaging etc. have been made part of both the new handsets. A VGA camera which is also capable of video recording can also be seen showcased in C1-01 handset.

C2 handset which is a dual SIM phone really meets the definition of dual SIM handsets as with the phone, users would be able to keep active both of their SIM cards inserted in the phone. Users can fit the first SIM card under the battery of Nokia C2, and for the second one, they have ‘hot-swappable’ option, a proprietary feature of Nokia. This enables users to remove and insert the second SIM card keeping the handset on.

Further, using Nokia’s Ovi Life Tools, C2 phone also offers a host of information from different areas including healthcare, agriculture, education, and entertainment. C2 users from developing world will also get an email account via Ovi Mail. The handset is also compatible with Nokia messaging. Other features of C2 include FM radio, music player and microSD card [supports up to 32GB].

Expectations are that Nokia C1 [C1-00] will be shipped in the third quarter of 2010 while the Nokia C1 [C1-01] will be released in early fourth quarter. Nokia C1-02 and Nokia C2 are expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2010.
