Bloomberg has come up with news which states that New york City subway stations will soon get Wi-Fi and mobile services coverage. And, it is Transit Wirless LCC, a consortium of wireless and construction companies, the project contract was awarded to. Actually, Transit wireless were given the project contract earlier in 2007; however it is now when company was able to secure financials which it did from Australia mobile-infrastructure operator Broadcast Australia with latter to also have majority stake in the Transit Wireless.

And, according to the agreement, two years time is given to Transit Wireless to equip at least six underground stations near 14th Street on Manhattan’s West Side followed by four years time, in which it has to complete equipping the remaining 271 stations. Previously, in 2007 when Transit Wireless was given the project, it was ten years the time duration, company had to complete the project.

Meanwhile, it is expected that work on the project will kick off in next two months.
