On Thursday, there has been released a bicycle charger by Nokia Oyj targettting handset users from developing countries with limited electricity supply.
However, Nokia has said that the device could potentially be popular in Europe also, as people here still prefer cycling for work, shopping, and a host of other tasks.
Commenting over the launch, Nokia spokesman Leo McKay said, “We are targeting the initial rollout in the developing markets, but we do, of course, see the potential outside of these countries,”
“In cities like Amsterdam for instance, where bicycles are probably the most common means of transportation, the supply of free, environmentally friendly power is pretty much limitless.”
