The Alienware M17x is a gaming notebook. It offers a new design for Alienware, moreover, it is considered to be the first model that has the all-new “Stealth” look. It is made of high-strength aluminum. It comes in three colors such as black, silver and red.

It is equipped with an “edge to edge” display meaning that it is covered by a large piece of glass. Moreover, it can be offered in two resolutions such as WXGA+ (1440×900) and WUXGA (1920×1200). It provides a 16:10 aspect ratio display that is unusual because most new notebooks use 16:9.

Unfortunately the display’s quality is regarded as average. The M17x comes equipped with two full-range speakers found underneath the palm rest. The notebook packs a backlit full-size keyboard that has number pad. As for the touchpad, it has a textured matte surface that is easy to use when your fingers are dry or damp.

The M17x boast of a number of selections of ports especially if it concerns video out. The device runs Windows Vista 64-bit but still it offers free Windows 7 upgrade coupons. If talk about the life battery, it offers only two hours and fifteen minutes of work period.

The notebook is powered with the Intel Extreme QX9300 processor that is able to be user-overclocked.
